New Moon in Aquarius, January the 20th, 2015 – Summoning of the Muse

“Moon Stick”, by Daniel Barreto – dbarreto.com

The first New Moon of the year 2015 takes place on January 20th, at zero degrees Aquarius (1:13 PM GMT). A fixed sign, Aquarius is the last stage of emanation of the Air triad: it’s the electric web of macroscopic synapses weaving all intellects together in a sparkling pool of information – the Group Mind, genial because simultaneously attuned to the collective, readily assimilating intuition and insight drawing from the vital lymph of the collective wisdom. Concerned with archetypes, ideas and collective trends, this sign cocoons this New Moon allowing for the lucid envisioning of new ideas on the rational plane.

Full Moon in Cancer, January 5th, 2015 – Volcane

Painting by Werner Knaupp.

The moon is full on January the 5th, 2015 at 14 degrees 30 minutes of Cancer, at exactly 4:53:13 AM, GMT time (therefore on January the 4th if you’re from the USA). It’s the first Full Moon of the New Year, and if you factor in the opposition to Pluto, which is conjunct the Sun in Capricorn, and Uranus squaring this trio from Aries, you’ll see this is going to be a powerful activation.
Whenever a Full Moon occurs, lights come up. Full Moons are a time of culmination, manifestation, externalization. The Moon is the ruling luminary of the sign of Cancer, which means that the usual intensity of this event can feel doubled at a time when it occurs in its natural, watery, nocturnal, receptive habitat.

Venus in Aquarius, January 3, 2015 – Several Circles

Vasily Kandinsky, Several Circles, January-February 1926, Oil on canvas
“Several Circles”, by Vasilij Kandinskij, 1926.

Planet of Love, relationships, values and talent Venus will enter Aquarius on January the 3rd, 2015, and will stay in the sign for most of the month (until January the 27th).
Airy Aquarius,  the sign of intellectual fervor, rebellion, genius and friendship, is ruled by Uranus, planet of freedom and revolution,  in co-rulership with Saturn (structure, responsibility), the traditional ruler of Capricorn, the sign that preceeds and the kind of energy that has flavoured Venus from December 10th, 2014. Regardless of how you choose to harness your Venusian qualities, either through social involvement  or self-reliant detachment, you can still be in control.

We have reached the end of 2014, a groundbreaking year in many ways. People have endured, suffered, revolutionized their lives, and aspirations for a better future have been lit up. The New Moon in Capricorn (once again at 0 degrees) on December the 22nd, 1:36 GMT, is an excellent time to plan out, invest in your goals and ambitions, reconfigure the basic patterns in your Life with the support of a reality-based strategy. We’ve seen how Capricorn, the industrious sign of ascension and perseverance, has to do with the essential structure, being the ruling sign of bones and teeth. With this upcoming New Moon, the last New Moon of 2014, we’re given the opportunity to envision a renewed life structure in which to settle, incorporating commitment and discipline into our intentions. Conversely, it also works for releasing structures and goals that no longer serve us, purge all that is detrimental to our energetical resources and, most importantly, get ready to start anew.

Uranus turning Direct, December 21, 2014 – Deliverance

Uranus, planet of change, revolution and freedom, has been retrograde since last July, and we have been pushed into a weird space, an un-comfort zone where our impulse towards transformation and renewal has been restrained, blurring out of focus. And yet, this is also the zone where important changes have been brewing beneath the surface, giving us a vague, indistinct glimpse of what’s to come. With this rebellious planet going direct and regaining its sharp power on December 21st, this scorching magma of shocks and surprises will powerfully erupt.
